A report from the American Bible Society shows us some very interesting news in regards to religion in the United States, particularly Christianity.
According to the latest numbers, men of all ages are picking up the Bible at a greater rate this year than last, and the gap between men who read the Bible and women has all but disappeared.
Significantly, we see the greatest increases among Millennials and men, populations that have previously scored low in Bible Use and Scripture Engagement. There's also been a Bible boost in formerly resistant regions — the Northeast and West. Even adherents of non-Christian religions are turning to the Bible more often.
Go ahead and give yourselves a little pat on the back, gentlemen.
Something is happening.
I'm not saying we're on the cusp of a revival or a great awakening. But I am saying that more people -- especially more men as leaders of households -- reading the Bible is a very good thing.

A breakdown of the numbers by generation shows millennials leading the way in Bible usage. And 'in every generation men are using the Bible more,' the report states.
Only three in 10 millennials qualified as Bible users in 2024, but in 2025, that number jumped to almost four in 10 (39%). Both male and female Bible users showed a substantial increase in Bible engagement over the previous year.
In every other generation, men have shown substantial gains in Bible usage compared to women.

But for real, men have long been, as a group, far away from Christ. What an encouragement it should be to see these developments!
So boys, start up a men's Bible study; encourage the men in your life to engage the Bible; and don't forget you can just crack the Bible open again yourself.
