The Summer 2023 Definition of Woman is finally here, and boy, it's a doozy!
Johns Hopkins University has referred to a woman as a "non-man" in the school's new LGBTQ glossary, prompting backlash from critics.
The prestigious Baltimore research university's LGBTQ glossary defined a lesbian as "a non-man attracted to non-men."
That is correct: One of the most storied and esteemed medical schools in the entire world has scrapped the word "woman" in favor of "non-man!"
The school said it was offering this "updated definition" in order to include "non-binary people who may also identify with the label." Honestly I'm not sure what that means. At a certain point it's even too much for me. So if you're "not a man," but also not a woman, you can identify as a woman who is attracted to other women? Is that — did I get that right?
Unfortunately, the glossary in which this non-mannish term was found has since been scrubbed from the Internet:
While the glossary is a resource posted on the website of the Johns Hopkins University Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI); the definitions were not reviewed or approved by ODI leadership and the language in question has been removed pending review.
