Nicaragua's Marxist government just took over a Catholic university, removed the priests, and renamed the school

Daniel Ortega's Marxist dictatorship in Nicaragua is on a rampage against the Catholic church in his country.

The latest move by the authoritarian government has been to stage a hostile takeover of a large Jesuit University, evicting six of the priests, renaming the school, and completely transforming everything about the University.

Ortega's government seized the school Aug. 15 and changed its name to "Casimiro Sotelo Montenegro National University," in honor of an assassinated student leader of the Sandinistas, a Marxist-Leninist group linked to the government.

The university canceled classes and administrative proceedings after a criminal court had transferred the university's property and finances to the government, Al Jazeera reported.

The Marxist leader called the University a "terrorist center" in order to justify the takeover, claiming that the school was raising up anti-government radicals.

Alumni, Catholic leaders, and even the United Nations have taken to Twitter to air their grievances against the takeover and essential liquidation of the University. But in the total state, these calls are going to do nothing to stop Ortega.

It's just another stepping stone for the Marxists to remove all Catholic and Christian influence in the country.

Marxists gonna Marx.
