After any tragedy, you always get an assortment of stoic "church" leaders who trot out some spiritual line about why you need to listen to their ideas because shut up.

Very rarely do these people cite Scripture. Instead, they throw out a line to make you feel guilty if you believe in things like, say, individual liberty, implying that it is not "Christlike" to defend your political beliefs. They then cap any potential discussion of the issue with "THIS ISN'T UP FOR DEBATE."

Without even mentioning where this thought comes from, you can infer that he's responding to the tragic school shooting in Texas last week. The argument is that you are being sinful if you stand up for the Second Amendment. Instead, the Christlike thing to do would be to give up your rights to the loving and beneficent government that will totally use that power for the good of the weak and vulnerable.
