When Principal Jennifer Schroeder at Randolph Middle School called Mariah Hector to discuss her daughter's fighting, she had no idea she was about to get a lesson in nature vs. nurture.

But when Hector threw her against a wall, and then leapt onto Assistant Superintendent Jennifer Dean, who was also in the room, and started choking the life out of her, it became pretty clear where Hector's daughter inherited her tendency to brawl.

Dean did not lose consciousness but had a difficult time breathing and visible signs of injury around her neck, police said.

The entire school was placed on lockdown as police were called in to handle Hector.

Hector tried to explain her actions by saying,

'I was angry because I had been trying to prevent this from happening all year,' she explained. 'My daughter was jumped, and her hair was pulled out of her scalp. It was by a number of girls and a boy. They also threw a trash can on her.

'I came to speak to the administration,' she explained. 'I felt like they just brushed it off and didn't take it seriously.'

Is "came to speak" a new euphemism for "tried to kill them"?

Hector faces charges of assaulting a school employee and second-degree trespassing.

(The second charge was because the school officials asked her to leave just before she attempted to harm them.)
