A North Carolina woman went to Clyde Cooper's BBQ and freaked out because her smoked chicken looked pink.
That's right. That's the review she left.
Mind you, this is after the restaurant explained that chicken does not turn white if it's cooked low and slow (the myoglobin breaking down is what changes the color for the nerds out there). The same thing happens with pork and beef.
Even if you don't understand the science, you can probably understand the deliciousness.
Unfortunately, the women felt assaulted by facts and left a bad review online... oh, and then called the cops.
Here's the 911 record:
"I had ordered some food from there and the barbecue is pink," the woman told 911. "I asked for either for them to cook it some more or exchange my order. They are saying that the meat is supposed to be pink. I asked for them to change my order and they said they are not giving me my money back or they are not going to trade out the food."
Here's the owner's version of events:
Apparently, when the police showed up, they were very amused at the woman's ignorance.
"When the cop came in though, he had a cute little smile in his face and rolled his eyes, and just had his arms folded," Holt said. "I don't even think he said much to me except, ‘I got you.'"
The woman is now threatening a civil suit.
Considering how much they love their barbecue in the Carolinas, I doubt a judge or jury would be easily persuaded in this case.
