North Carolina's governor vows to veto 12-week abortion ban, state legislature says they'll override it 💪

On Thursday, the Republican-controlled North Carolina legislature passed a very reasonable 12-week abortion ban which would make North Carolina about as liberal on abortion as the most liberal European nations.

Or, as the Democrats call it, ushering in "The Handmaid's Tale."

Here's the wicked and depraved governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper, promising earlier this week to veto the bill:

But Republicans in North Carolina look like they are going to hold strong.

Republicans have been more aggressive in advancing measures that Cooper has opposed or otherwise vetoed after GOP seat gains during the November elections. The party got veto-proof majorities in both chambers last month, when then-Democratic Rep. Tricia Cotham switched to the Republican Party. Cotham, who had spoken out previously for abortion rights but had expressed a willingness to consider additional restrictions, voted for the bill Wednesday night.

Thanks to one Democrat switching parties, this bill made it to the governor's desk and faces a veto-proof majority if sent back to the state legislature.

Democrat Governor Roy Cooper is quite literally begging "moderate Republicans" to change their minds.

Currently, North Carolina allows for abortions up to 20 weeks which, since the end of Roe, has meant more money coming into the state for baby murderers, since several surrounding states have already outright banned the butchery.

Although the 12-week ban is a VERY moderate and liberal proposal comparable to many nations in the world. the demons seem pretty ticked about it:

But as the governor pointed out, this 12-week ban is on a razor's edge. Only one vote separates the passage of the bill from its failure.

If you live in North Carolina, let your politicians know their support is going to sink like a rock if they go squishy on protecting babies.
