How much you think a Big Mac's gonna cost when McDonald's employees are making $50 per hour? Are you willing to pay thirty bucks for a sandwich?

I'm not joking, a $50-per-hour minimum wage is being floated by Senate candidate and current Congresswoman Barbara Lee of California.

I owned and ran a small business for eleven years … I know what worker productivity means, and that means that you have to make sure that your employees are taken care of and have a living wage.

And apparently in the Bay Area, where "$127,000 for a family of four is just barely enough to get by," that means raising the minimum wage to $50 an hour.

$50 AN HOUR!!!

That's seven times the current minimum wage!

"Just do the math," Rep. Barbara Lee says, in an apparent effort to sell her idea.

Well I've done the math. And the math tells me I'll be spending thousands of dollars every time I visit the grocery store when the kids bagging my groceries are making $50/hour.

No thanks!

Not all of us live in California, lady. Maybe run for state Senate if you wanna make a difference out there, but don't push your inflation on the rest of us.
