NPR really out-NPR'd itself with the hire of its new woke CEO

You got to give credit to National Public Radio for at least staying on-brand:

[NPR], a corrupt American news institution that receives public funding, has appointed DEI ideologue Katherine Maher as its new CEO.

It's true, Maher โ€” formerly the CEO of the left-leaning Wikimedia Foundation โ€” is indeed a "DEI ideologue," and the receipts are not that hard to find:

She once justified the shoplifting epidemic in Los Angeles on the sins of slavery.

"I mean, sure, looting is counterproductive. But it's hard to be mad about protests not prioritizing the private property of a system of oppression founded on treating people's ancestors as private property," Maher wrote in 2020 on Twitter, which has since been rebranded as X.

Ahh, yes, the old "theft is totally understandable because of oppression from hundreds of years ago" argument. You got to love these public intellectuals.

Our new government-funded CEO has also done the requisite white guilt thing:

Maher, 40, also told her 26,500-plus X followers that same year that "white silence is complicity."

"If you are white, today is the day to start a conversation in your community," she urged.

As ever, we learned most people's true selves during the 2020 George Floyd riots. If the country was burning and people were dying and you were saying things like, "White silence is complicity," it was very clear who you were.

Give the lady credit, though, she at least engaged in a little self-flagellation while she was at it:

I know that hysteric white woman voice. I was taught to do it. I've done it. It's a disturbing recognition.

Good to know, Katherine!

Congratulations to NPR and Katherine Maher, you guys deserve each other!
