First things first, so you can enjoy this (relatively) guilt-free: It appears "no one was seriously injured."
Now that that's out of the way, on to the good stuff!
This was so bizarre I had to dig into it to make sure it was legit, and as far as I can tell, it is, with multiple news reports on the incident. According to all accounts, it took place on October 17 of this year in Indianapolis.
Plus, this from the couple with the dash cam that captured it all:
My wife and I were in the vehicle with the dashcam. At around 12:30 pm a person driving Eastbound on 82nd street ran a red light at Hague rd. We were facing Westbound on 82nd, stopped at the red.
For context, this is the intersection. I believe the church across the intersection and to the right in the video is the one in the upper left hand corner of the map. Appropriately enough, it is called "Abundant Life Church."
Make sure you watch all the way to the end.
Note the pedestrian!
This is nine seconds into the video:
One second later:
One more second after that:
Fifteen long seconds later, the pedestrian miraculously walks back into the field of view.
Perhaps equally miraculous, just prior to the reappearance of the pedestrian, this white vehicle casually comes to a stop at the intersection as if he is NOT carrying an SUV on his hood.
Like. A. Boss.
Maybe he's works for Carvana.
I should note the pedestrian had his own boss move, aside from surviving. Just before he leaves the frame, he starts moving out of the way of the careening SUV.
Like a running back evading a tackle.
While the driver who ran the red light is clearly in trouble, it could have been worse.
He could have crossed state lines!
