This story is out of Glasgow, Scotland:
64-year-old John Delvin happens to be a really nice guy, so when he saw Paul Hartey, 47, struggling to repair the handlebars on a bicycle, he stopped to help him out.
Delvin, a cyclist himself who must know a lot about bike repairs, put his game face on and got to work.
However, he was halfway through the job when he noticed a familiar sticker on the bike, and—oh, what's that?—a helmet attached to the bike that looked just like his own.
"He recognised it to be his bike and said 'that's my bike'."
Hartey pulled out a knife before making off and was tailed by Mr Devlin. A 999 call was made and Hartey was later apprehended.
Bro, you pulled out a knife for a bike?
Who are you?!?!
Regardless, 64-year-old John Delvin chased him down the street and was able to lead the police to the bike thief.
So it goes without saying...
Not all heroes wear capes.
Hartey pled guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to forcing open a lockfast shed.
He also admitted having a knife without reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
Keith Tuck, defending, told the court Hartey had been under the influence of drugs and cannot recall the incident.
Makes total sense!
