Imagine being this afraid.
Our elite – the same people who spend all their time telling us why they are more moral and superior to us as they lecture us on what's right and wrong – are mostly cowards living in expensive homes.
"I've been so careful with myself that my own friends make fun of me," the talk show legend told the Los Angeles Times in a lengthy interview published Friday. "I didn't leave home for 322 days — literally did not leave the house."
But the near-year spent at her sprawling California estate ― nicknamed "The Promised Land" ― was no hardship.
"What has surprised me the most is how well I was able to adjust to the isolation and not being around other people," Winfrey said. "I remember one point [Gayle King] said, ‘Don't you just miss being around other people?' I go, ‘Eh, not really.'"
Yeah, if I had a $40 million sprawling estate with every creature comfort known to man and an entire team of servants to get me through things, it would be exceedingly easy to be a "hermit" for a year.
Still, she should probably get some help for that insane level of fear. I mean, she has several other mansions she could have flown to!
As for the millions of Americans who were locked up in their small big-city apartments though... Oprah wants you to know that's she's all about keeping you common plague carriers away from her. As The Daily Mail notes:
'I personally think it's too soon to be removing masks from planes. But that's what people choose to do. And if I were on a commercial plane, I would be one of the people who would still be wearing my mask,' Oprah told the Los Angeles Times.
Fortunately, she doesn't have to fly commercial with us little folk, since she's a billionaire.
Speaking of being insanely rich, Oprah made these comments about her new documentary, which argues America is super racist in healthcare (like everything else, of course).
After all, only white people like Oprah are rich and privileged and living in the lap of luxury!
Back to HuffPo:
Winfrey was talking to the Times to promote "The Color of Care," a new documentary she executive-produced about the COVID-19 pandemic and racial disparities in the health care system.
What a hero!
