Mark Driscoll receives letter from local government asking him to remove "Jesus Christ 2024" signs from church property

Well, here's a bizarre story out of Scottsdale for you.

Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona, pastored by Mark Driscoll, received a letter from the local government because of a sign they had posted at their church.

(Driscoll always seems to be in the middle of some controversy, doesn't he?)

Driscoll's church is surrounded with, as you saw in the video, countless political signs for different candidates. But because the church put up a parody political sign promoting a sermon series, they have to take it down?

Never mind that it's a promotion on church property.

We have been asked to take our sign down. And I think it's just curious, just an observation: There's a ton of signs and only one says 'Jesus' and that's the one that's offensive. Not to us, that's our favorite sign.

And what I would say is that if a lot of people are seeing it, that's great. We're going to keep it up. So ... to the lovely government bureaucrats that send emails, we love you, we forgive you, we bless you, we thank you.

We will not comply, we will multiply. So I have ordered a sign company to make each one of you a sign for free ...

The man knows how to take advantage of a moment.

Promoting the name of Jesus is a good thing, actually. And I am glad that Arizona is going to see the name more and more.
