I'm sure you guys all know this, because everyone watches women's basketball, but Caitlin Clark put up 41 points on Monday night in the Elite 8 versus LSU, leading Iowa to the Final Four for the second consecutive year, and knocking off the defending champs who Iowa lost to in the final just one year ago.
It was slightly exciting, and I looked up from my phone at least four times while the game was on, but never once did I think to myself, wow, a white girl is beating a bunch of black girls at basketball, that's new.
But apparently that's exactly what was on former NBA star Paul Pierce's mind, cuz check out his take on FS1 this afternoon.
We saw a white girl in Iowa do it to a bunch of black girls. That made it like, oh — that gained my respect … She didn't do this to some other little white girls that was over here in Colorado or wherever. She did it to some girls from LSU who we thought was some dogs.
Bro, imagine if a white guy said this!
Or imagine there was a black chess player rising to fame who finally beat an asian and I was like, wow, that black girl finally earned my respect because she did it against an asian.
The internet would be in a frenzy!
But this is just fine cuz it's aimed at a white person.
Paul Pierce, take a lap!
