HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?: "Pilot with allergy to spiders is bitten mid-flight by stowaway tarantula"

You've seen Snakes on a Plane, but have you seen the soon-to-be-released fake sequel that I just made up, Tarantula Bites Pilot With Severe Spider Allergy During Flight From Düsseldorf, Germany, to Madrid?

No lie, this actually happened. The flight landed safely in Madrid, by the way, so don't go daydreaming of yet another plane crash. The pilot is fine as well.

Investigators are saying that this tarantula entered the plane in or on someone's luggage on an earlier flight between Madrid and Morocco. It's still amazing, however, that a tarantula crawled all the way from the cargo hold to the cockpit and bit not just one of the only persons qualified to fly the plane, but a man with a severe allergy to spiders!

After the bite,

The pilot was immediately treated with Urbasón, a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, which was in the flight's first aid kit, the outlet said.

After landing safely in Madrid, the plane was fumigated, killing (or at least removing) the fugitive tarantula and any other bugs which may have been on the plane. This caused a delay, the origin of which wasn't made clear to the next group of passengers until just before they boarded the plane for Vigo, Spain.

Passengers were visibly uncomfortable while boarding the flight out of fear — checking seats and belongings for any signs of arachnids, the outlet said.

That flight also landed safely, though I bet it felt a lot longer than 70 minutes in the air.

As for the pilot, he received his treatment and will likely have his head on a swivel during all future flights.

After all of this, I sure hope the pilot at least gained some spidey powers from the ordeal!
