Almost 40% of Brown University students say they're LGBTQ compared to 14% in 2010. Please tell me again how this isn't a social contagion.

Brown University might just be the gayest school in the nation.

That's right, in 2010 a mere 14% of Brown University students said they were not straight. In 2023, as if by magic, that number has jumped all the way to 38%.

The latest data show that between 2010 and 2023, identification as LGBTQ+ has almost tripled among the student body at Brown (from 14% in 2010 saying they were not heterosexual to 38% now). "The Herald's Spring 2023 poll found that 38% of students do not identify as straight — over five times the national rate ," The Brown Daily Herald reported . "Over the past decade, LGBTQ+ identification has increased across the nation, with especially sharp growth at Brown."

So what, do we think more kids just started popping out of the womb gay sometime around 2003, or are we going to admit that what we're doing with our culture has led to more kids trying gay stuff — that this is a social contagion?

Seriously, like you can get in trouble in lefty circles for even suggesting such a thing. It's like a cult, and you've insulted the leader. It's weird.

I found this next part very interesting:

The 38% identification tracks with research from the Center for the Study of Partisanship and Ideology, which found similar levels among elite colleges. The researcher on that project, Eric Kaufmann, noted in comments to the College Fix that his research has found sexual behavior has not kept pace with the identification.

In other words, bisexual identification outstrips bisexual sexual activity.

"If this was about people feeling able to come out, then we should have seen these two trends rise together," he told the College Fix. "What we find instead is that identity is rising much faster than behavior, indicating that people with occasional rather than sustained feelings of attraction to the opposite sex are increasingly identifying as LGBT."

So kids, in an effort to be "cool," are saying they're bisexual just because it helps them fit in. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is about as sad as it gets.

Like, hey, one time in the tenth grade I accidentally looked at Jeremy Haggardy in the shower. It was, like, so cool bro, and I'm totally gay now. That's cool, right? I'm cool now, right?

So dumb.

I like this comparison right here:

For example, the American Lung Association says that marketing, pressure from friends, and seeing their parents smoke cigarettes can contribute to higher rates of smoking. "Peer relationships" are also linked to alcohol abuse and drug use. On the positive side, peer support groups can be helpful in weight loss and paying off debt.

But none of this exists when we're talking about the gay stuff.

Give me a break!

You're in a cult if you think social contagion has nothing to do with the rising numbers of those who identify as LGBTQ.

Our culture needs to change, quickly.
