Police departments shred Biden for his suggestion that officers should just shoot criminals "in the leg"

Joe Biden has no clue what he's talking about when it comes to tactics or guns.

I will admit, however, that the guy has some pretty mean finger guns.

Still, all that boyish charm aside, Grandpa Joe hasn't got any idea what a real-world life-or-death situation looks like. Nor does he have any semblance of force-on-force training. All Joe knows is that one doesn't need a "100-round clip" or an "AR-14" because there's never been a time in history when governments steam-rolled their defenseless citizens into concentration camps, slavery, and gulags.

One hopes that it's just because Joe remembers a simpler time: a time when single-shot muskets were the norm and gunpowder was difficult to come by. Unfortunately, behind that nation's-favorite-grandpa exterior lurks a sinister philosophy of disarming people. To what end I'll leave up to you.

During his town hall last week, Biden was given a few hard-hitting tee balls to answer before his daily juice box and nap, and one of them dealt with the issue of police force. Biden's earth-shattering suggestion? That cops should just shoot criminals in the knee.

Here's what the Detectives Endowment Association had to say about it:

Insulting indeed.

John Evans, the president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, used choice words such as "absolutely ridiculous" and "incredibly ignorant" to describe Biden's thoughts.

"The guy's clueless," said Evans. "And I know he's just trying to appease his left-wing base but it's a really foolish statement."

It isn't the first time Biden has said this exact same stupid thing. On June 1, he said, "When there's an unarmed person coming at [an officer] with a knife or something, shoot ‘em in the leg instead of in the heart."

BRUH. I'd bet Biden's security team was shaking their heads at this one. What stupidity.

For anyone who isn't familiar with defensive shooting, there's something called the 21-foot rule. The rule states that generally, a man with a knife can cover 21 feet in 1.5 seconds. Milliseconds literally save lives in these scenarios. I'd like to see Biden draw a weapon from a holster in 1.5 seconds, let alone sight in his target, check his environment to ensure others don't get hurt, appropriately assess whether that attacker is holding a stick of gum or a knife, and then land a disabling shot.

Here's a great video demonstrating how insane Biden's logic is here:

Joe Gamaldi, vice president of the national Fraternal Order of Police – the largest police association in the nation, which recently endorsed Trump – also derided Joe's words as "completely ridiculous."

"Shootings are dynamic situations and we shoot to stop the threat," said Gamaldi. "It's incredibly difficult to hit a moving target."

Indeed. There's a reason you shoot center mass in a situation that warrants it. Unless those rounds hit the brain or heart, an attacker may have enough adrenaline and blood pressure to hack you to pieces. It's why the hero that stopped a church shooting with a single shot was a model for effective use of force. A shot like that eliminates the threat and prevents additional rounds from ricocheting or over-penetrating into bystanders.

For anyone who might still be tracking with Joe, however, there's one additional point to consider. Even if an officer drew his weapon, fired at a leg, and hit his mark, it wouldn't necessarily be less lethal. The femoral artery runs through the thigh, and when it's severed, you die in a matter of seconds.

But it's okay, guys. At least Biden has said he'll appoint a Constitution-abiding, tactically savvy person to lead his firearms policies:
