Police had to help this little guy get out of a claw machine after his attempt to score a free stuffed animal did not go as planned

Ethan Hopper of Queensland, Australia, got into an unusual predicament after he took it into his three-year-old mind to climb inside a claw machine filled with toys at a local shopping mall.

Police were called to help the little boy escape because he was not able to get back out the way he got in. The police ended up shattering the glass panel to provide an exit for him.

The Queensland Police shared a video on X:

Many people in the replies criticize this situation as just another case of bad parenting, but I think it may be more a case of "3-year-old-boy-ing."

The boy's dad, Timothy Hopper, told reporters that when he saw his son climb into the machine,

I had zero chance to react to it, it was unbelievable how fast he climbed up there.

Having personally spent time around 3-year-old boys, I 100% believe this was the case.

Thankfully, Ethan was not harmed, and even though he's only 3, I think this will be a core memory for him.

(Hopefully not one he'll want to recreate anytime soon.)

Maybe next time he can try out one of these instead:
