This is as ice cold as it gets.

I'm going to give you a double warning here for violence. No blood is visible on the blurry surveillance video that follows, but it shows a man being murdered. Discretion is highly advised.

[Warning: Graphic, Violent]

(Here's the video if the X link doesn't load)

The perp's first shot looks to have hit 50-year-old United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson somewhere in the upper left leg or lower back. You can see him start limping and stagger into the wall.

After that, the perp's pistol jammed, which could be an issue with the gun, ammo, or the can (suppressor) he was using, or because suppressed handguns can sometimes fail to return the slide to battery (especially if they are fired too quickly).

A Glock slide failing to return to battery, which prevents the gun from cycling the next round

Here's more speculation on how a suppressor can cause issues with blowback/cycling.

The killer then cleared at least one more misfire/jam - on a busy NYC street outside the Hilton Midtown right before rush hour - put two more bullets into Thompson (3 bullet casings were found at the scene), and then casually walked away.

Absolutely ice cold.

Thompson had reportedly received threats leading up to the morning of the murder.

Pray authorities catch this guy quickly.
