So here we have yet another example of why the police are actually great to have around.
A 4-year-old boy was reported missing early on a Saturday morning back in June, so naturally the police went looking for him—you know, because that's their job: to be heroes. While out searching for the boy they received a call that a body had been spotted floating in a nearby pond.
When the police arrived on the scene they weren't immediately able to spot the young boy; but when they noticed some air bubbles and the "silhouette of a small person" about 20 feet out they got right to work. The officers quickly made their way into the water, grabbed the boy, and got him to shore.
The boy didn't appear to be breathing, so one of the officers performed CPR. The boy then began to breathe, and was sent to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Here's the video:
These dudes are heroes! Like, you and I are over here tearing up, and these officers were actually there, kept their composure, and SAVED THIS KID'S LIFE.
God bless these men.
People, don't forget to teach your young children about water safety. It goes a long way. This kid managed to slip out the back door and didn't have to go very far to make it to the pond. Luckily there were police around to rescue him.
