Rare green puppy born just in time for St. Patty's Day

Well it looks like this bulldog momma had a bit of a pregnancy craving for McDonald's famous Shamrock Shake.

Yup, seven pups had come out, and Trevor and Audra Mosher of Nova Scotia thought that was it for their 3-year-old bulldog Freya. However, Freya had one more pup to deliver—this one, a green-furred bundle of joy they plan on naming Hulkette, Fiona, Lucky Irish, Pistachio, or my personal favorite, Wasabi.

Just look at this little gal:

The rare discoloration, which has been documented before, is believed to be caused by light-colored puppies coming into contact with the green pigments from bile while in the womb.

The couple said the puppy's green coloring has started to fade in the days since the birth, and experts said it will continue to fade in the coming weeks until it is gone completely.

Looks like this pup will likely be a normal color by St. Patrick's Day. Though if I were the owners, I'd give her a little green dye just to make it festive.
