The Left's immoral eagerness to use Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick's death following the D.C. riot turned out to be a farce.
For weeks, we were told how he had been hit in the head with a fire extinguisher.
When that turned out to be false, it was implied that he had probably still died due to chemical exposure from the riots, and were were told we must continue to be very angry and remove everyone who supports former President Trump from polite society.
Yeah, even that wasn't true:
From the AP:
"Washington D.C.'s chief medical examiner has ruled that Capitol Police officer Brian D. Sicknick suffered two strokes and died of natural causes a day after he confronted rioters at the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Medical examiner Francisco J. Diaz, in an interview with the Washington Post says that Sicknick's autopsy did not find any evidence that the 42-year-old officer suffered an allergic reaction to the chemical substance, which Diaz said would have caused Sicknick's throat to seize."
Let's focus in even more on that assessment:
"But the determination of a natural cause of death means the medical examiner found that a medical condition alone caused his death — it was not brought on by an injury. The determination is likely to significantly inhibit the ability of federal prosecutors to bring homicide charges in connection with Sicknick's death."
And later:
"Diaz also said there were no indications of internal or external injuries. He told The Post he could not comment on whether Sicknick had a preexisting medical condition.
I have no idea if the stress of the riot triggered a preexisting condition. There's a probability that it did. Or perhaps it would have been triggered by a jog or a trip to the coffee shop. No one knows.
Yet Sicknick was treated as a symbol. He laid in repose in the Capitol rotunda and had the highest honors paid him by Biden and other public figures.
I am not insulting the officer. Not in the least. I have no reason to believe he was anything more or less than a faithful officer of the law, a husband, and a father.
My beef is not even remotely with him or his efforts to stop the neckbeards breaking into the Capitol.
My problem is with the media that used his death to divide a nation.
We can and should hold the media and others accountable for using a man's death to boost their agenda and their ratings.
What a clown show.
