Is diversity our strength yet?
Yep, this year's concert on the Champs-Élysées is canceled. The historic event normally draws up to a million people.
Instead, Parisians will be encouraged to watch the fireworks show from home or the TV (so fun!). French broadcasters will also stream a pre-recorded concert so residents can ring in the new year ... safely isolated from each other.
Sydney (which had a major Islamic terror attack this month) has also called off official events for NYE.
London, meanwhile, has closed a traditional fireworks-viewing area, making people wonder what has changed in the last few decades to make England's public parks such a security risk.
(The memes on that post are glorious.)
Here in the U.S., authorities recently charged 4 people with planning a NYE attack in Los Angeles. They aren't Muslims, just garden-variety leftists.
Other cities are on high alert:
Happy New Year to everyone who knows why this is happening!
