Rep. Chip Roy called for Biden to be impeached over the border crisis and people got the idea trending
· Aug 3, 2021 · NottheBee.com

There were some of us radicals who suggested that impeachment would lose its meaning if it was employed multiple times by the Dems to grab power in the name of fighting "collusion" and "insurrection."

In fact, some of us extremists thought impeachment would be used as a regular political tool if it was cheapened in such a way.

Were we right or were we right?

In an exclusive statement to The Daily Wire, Roy explained his call to impeach Biden and Dept. of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, saying: "Over the past several months, President Biden and Sec. Mayorkas have blatantly and consistently refused to do their constitutional duty to take care that the immigration laws be faithfully executed, as required by Article II, endangering countless American and foreign lives in the process."

Rep. Roy (TX) also tweeted out statistics that highlighted the crisis at the border.

"Total encounters: 205,029. Total known gotaways: 37,400," Roy tweeted. "1.3 million for [Fiscal Year] 21 so far. Largest monthly encounter number since 2000."

Then there was this impassioned thread, where Roy called out the hypocrisy of peeps like AOC who staged photo ops at the border to attack Trump:

A reporter for WaPo confirmed that border patrol had encountered over 210,000 people coming across the border... in JULY.

Twitter quickly saw #ImpeachBiden trending.

I don't like playing impeachment games, but allowing hundreds of thousands of unscreened foreigners to invade the nation you supposedly lead does seem like a dereliction of duty several magnitudes higher than a phone call to Ukraine or supposedly inciting grandmas to shuffle through the halls of Congress.

Of course, if Biden were actually impeached, America would have a whole new issue to deal with.
