This story is so utterly bizarre.
The report from RealClearPolitics is that a female Secret Service agent assigned to former President Trump snuck off to breastfeed while on duty.
The details:
Shortly before Trump's motorcade arrival -- I'm told five minutes beforehand -- the site agent was getting ready for the arrival. (The site agent is the person in charge of the entire event's security.)
The site agent went to do one final sweep of the walking route and found the agent breast-feeding her child in a room that is supposed to be set aside for important Secret Service official work, i.e. a potential emergency related to the president.
WHY THE HECK DID THIS WOMAN BRING HER BABY ON A SECRET SERVICE MISSION??
Is the entire Secret Service incompetent beyond belief?
Apparently, two other family members were with the woman in the standby room while she was nursing her baby. I guess they brought the kid to mama's job and she decided she'd feed the baby while on duty.
The agent and her family members bypassed the Uniformed Division checkpoint and were escorted by an unpinned event staff into the room to breastfeed, the sources said. Unpinned means they have not been cleared by the Secret Service to be there.
Lady just snuck her family and her baby past security and hid away to breastfeed, again, WHILE SHE WAS ON DUTY! She didn't even ask her boss, "Hey, can I slip away for a minute?"
Moms, I know the work-life dynamic is insane and that breastfeeding is best for your baby - but I'm gonna need you to deprogram those feminist teachings and let me suggest that allowing moms with infants to be on the ARMED PRAETORIAN GUARD OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is not a good idea.
When contacted about the incident, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the incident did not have an impact on the event. and it's under review.
'All employees of the U.S. Secret Service are held to the highest standards,' he said. 'While there was no impact to the North Carolina event, the specifics of this incident are being examined. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.'
No harm no foul? Is that what we're saying here?
Especially after the near-assassination in Butler? Really?
How many examples of incompetence do we have to see??
I don't think that Donald Trump is safe anywhere anymore.
