Channel 11′s Nicole Ford confirmed that Beaver County's ESU team had eight members at the rally, including snipers and spotters. According to Ford's sources, one of them noticed a suspicious man on a roof near the rally at 5:45 p.m., called it in and took a picture of the person. We have learned from our sources the person in that picture is Thomas Crooks. We're told it's not clear if Crooks had a gun with him at that point.
30 minutes, they were tracking this guy?!?!?
And yet Trump still remained on stage until shots were fired at 6:15.
CBS News reporter Olivia Rinaldi shared new information on how the shooter managed to evade security and take his sweet time setting up on the roof:
So they saw him observe the building, take out a range-finder to get the distance of his shot, come back with a backpack, climb the building with a rifle, and then they waited until he fired a shot on the former president before taking him out.
Bro, we're dipping our toes in some conspiracy theory waters here and not because we want to. This is either pure incompetence, or, well — I don't want to be that guy.
You can clearly see the shooter laying on the roof here.
No way this guy gets a shot off on President Trump if there's an inch of competence within the local police force and the Secret Service.
On top of all that, there's this.
ABC News learned the building was the same building a local police tactical team was using as a staging area to watch over the crowd at the Butler Farm Show grounds.
It is unclear if the team was inside the building, which sources said had been swept before the rally.
Forget investigating the Secret Service, I'm starting to get some vibes that I really don't like from the local police force in Butler County.
We need answers. Now.
