While the rest of America is jettisoning decades of critical experience in medicine, law enforcement, and fire fighting over a virus that's deadly to a small fraction of people, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida is making power plays to attract all the talent to his team:
During an appearance on "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo, DeSantis said he is now "actively working" to recruit out-of-state police officers who have been fired or placed on unpaid leave due to their city's vaccine mandate.
"We're actually actively working to recruit out-of-state law enforcement, because we do have needs in our police and our sheriff's departments. So, in the next legislative session, I'm going to hopefully sign legislation that gives a $5,000 bonus to any out-of-state law enforcement that relocates in Florida," DeSantis said.
"So, NYPD, Minneapolis, Seattle, if you're not being treated well, we will treat you better here. You can fill important needs for us, and we will compensate you as a result," he added.
You've got to admit, this is a smart move! He should go ahead and offer the same to firefighters, truckers, construction workers, and public servants!
Contrast this to what politicians like Joe Biden have been saying:
During a CNN town hall this past Thursday, President Joe Biden said that law enforcement and emergency personnel should be fired if they do not comply with vaccine mandates.
"Should police officers, emergency responders be mandated to get vaccines? And if not, should they be stay at home or let go?" Anderson Cooper asked the president.
"Yes and yes. By the way, by the way, I waited until July to talk about mandating because I tried everything else possible," responded Biden. "The mandates are working."
Oh, they're "working," all right.
Look at all the first responders turning in their boots in places like Seattle over these stupid vax mandates:
How about Chicago?
America became the superpower it is because people are attracted to liberty. For decades, we drew the world's best and brightest from totalitarian countries they desperately wanted to flee.
