Russia is pulling out of cooperation on the International Space Station over a hissy fit about international sanctions

It's unfortunate to say, but the cosmonauts on the International Space Station are going to be eating a lot less borscht in the very near future:

Russia has today announced it will end co-operation on the International Space station until Western-led sanctions over its Ukraine invasion are lifted.

The head of the country's space agency said it will no longer work with its partners, including NASA and the European Space Agency, on the groundbreaking orbiting laboratory.

The chief of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, revealed the move on Twitter and said he will submit a timetable for completion of current projects to the Kremlin.

Hmm. How to sum this up?

It's true that Russia's efforts have thus far ensured that the ISS does not fall to earth. That is, you know, sort of critical.

On the other hand... my suspicion is that we'll be able to manage. After all, we have the great Elon Musk on our side. When Roscosmos asked "who will save the ISS from an uncontrolled deorbit?" in Russia's absence, Musk responded:

I think I'll put my money on SpaceX seeing us out of this one!
