Samford was robbed of a potential upset by this call on an obvious block
· Mar 23, 2024 · NottheBee.com

First we had Duquesne in the afternoon upsetting BYU, then we had an absolute barn burner in the evening as Oakland upset Kentucky, and when the late game between Samford and Kansas entered the final 20 seconds, we had a one-point game and another potential upset — which is kinda the reason for the season if you ask me.

Unfortunately for us upset chasers, this beauty of a block, which would've given Samford the final shot, was called a foul by some guy who somewhere along the line earned himself a Fox 40 whistle and a striped shirt (and probably a nice little relationship with that bright city out in the desert).

Watch:

The cleanest block I've ever seen, and if that's my player I'm giving him the game ball, I don't care what the refs say.

Kansas wins the game, but we all know what really would've happened had that Fox 40 not blown for no reason.

Samford was down by as much as 22 points in the second half, which makes this all the more distasteful.

Man, you hate to see it!
