New York firefighter Timothy Klein was laid to rest on Friday after dying in the line of duty battling a blaze while trying to save lives.

As was to be expected, the NYFD and other emergency responders sent him off in style.

The process began hours before the funeral, when attendants began practicing for the transportation of Klein's casket; they understand this is serious business.

The city inscribed a fire engine with Klein's name alongside that of another fallen NYFD fighter:
