Sen. Rand Paul may be the most hated politician on Capitol Hill β you know, because he believes in inherent rights, the Constitution, limited government, and other controversial stuff like freedom:
The envelope with white powder and a death threat arrived Monday at the senator's home. On the outside was a picture of Paul after he was brutally assaulted by his neighbor in 2017, a gun pointed at the senator's head, and the statement, "I'll finish what your neighbor started, you motherfββ."
"The FBI's Louisville field office told Fox News it was 'working with the Warren County Sheriff's Office and the Capitol Police by providing forensic and technical assistance.' U.S. Capitol Police said they were investigating the package as well."
The senator said he takes the threats very seriously and attacked Twitter for allowing public figures to publicly threaten him:
Paul also noted that American singer Richard Marx (nice last name) had just celebrated violence against him this past weekend.
"I'll say it again: If I ever meet Rand Paul's neighbor I'm going to hug him and buy him as many drinks as he can consume," tweeted Marx on Sunday.
Sen. Paul's wife, Kelly, said she was the one who called the FBI about the package. She also named just a few of the people who have recently threatened his life and received no penalty:
The responses to her tweets were, you guessed it, mostly profane and celebrating violence.
Pray that the woke FBI still has the focus and capacity to investigate this death threat against a sitting U.S. senator.
