Well, would ya look at this. The California Assembly has just resurrected SB 94, a bill which would allow some convicted felons serving life without parole to petition for early release. The bill had been on the shelf for more than a year, but was just removed from the Assembly's inactive file.
Well, at least this bill will keep a few men out of the women's prisons out there in California. I hear that's one of the most popular ways out of men's prisons in Cali โ to pretend to be a woman.
Here's what we got going on with SB 94:
After gathering dust for almost a year the California Assembly is prepared to vote on SB 94 a bill that would allow lifers, in prison for murder and other such crimes, to petition for early release, KCRA Sacramento reports.
That petition would be pretty much assured of being granted as the bill would mandate that felons who have been in prison for at least 25 years would be assured of having their sentences reduced. Serial killers and cop killers would not be eligible for the early release program.
Life without parole?
Not so fast!
We wouldn't want criminals serving life sentences for their life-sentence-earning crimes, now would we?
California, you'll be glad to know that convicted felon lifers will soon be back on the streets of your state if SB 94 is signed by your oh-so-wonderful governor.
