A bus full of Christians tragically plunged off of a bridge in South Africa, killing dozens on their way to worship during holy week.
But here's how CNN is covering the story:
A bus full of "Easter worshippers."
You might ask, based on this headline, "what exactly is an Easter worshipper? Do they bow down to a chocolate bunny like in VeggieTales?"
But no, this is how CNN chooses to avoid saying the word "Christian."
The story is even more painful than the headline.
Dozens of worshipers died after a bus headed to an Easter conference crashed in South Africa's Limpopo province on Thursday, the latest tragedy in a country where recent road accidents have led to multiple casualties.
The crash claimed the lives of 45 people, and the sole surviver, an eight-year-girl, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) reported.
Lord have mercy! Pray for this 8-year-old girl. And pray for everyone involved.
But CNN continually went out of their way not to mention by name the religion all of the departed believed in.
They were Christians, CNN.
This is spitting on their graves, refusing to identify them with the savior they held to until the very end.
The word "Christian" comes up only once in the article, and that's ONLY because it's in the name of the church they were visiting. Otherwise, there would only be veiled references that make it sound like these people worshipped Easter itself.
Once again, you don't hate journalists enough.
