An op-ed from June 14 by Kathleen Parker in the Washington Post suggested that Kamala Harris's low polling numbers are a threat to Joe Biden winning in November.
Her solution?
Replace Harris with someone else:
Several alternative candidates have been suggested, including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth and, needless to say, Taylor Swift.
Yes, that says Taylor Swift, though the author says it's sort of kind of a joke.
But who does Parker settle on as the best possible choice if she can't have Taylor Swift?
Why not replace Harris with Clinton? At 76, she might want no part of it, but it's hard to retire when you feel your job isn't done. If Biden needs to step down, even those who didn't vote for Clinton would have confidence in her ability to keep the country on track.
(Tell me you want Joe Biden Epsteined without telling me.)
I half suspect Parker believes the 2016 election was stolen.
Clinton inserting herself into the news cycle is to remind voters that, but for her defeat in 2016, we wouldn't be stuck in this old-White-men dilemma. She is also reminding people of her relative centrism, her support for Israel and her broadly respected role as secretary of state.
As amusing as it would be to watch the race hustling wokies lose their minds if Biden switched out his current DEI hire for a much older white woman with experience, I doubt that's going to happen.
They already printed all the signs!
