Some kids got arrested for stealing a car and then their guardians showed up at the police station to pick them up ... in a stolen car

You know they say "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," but this story is ridiculous.

It started with an organized shoplifting spree when two carfuls of people showed up at a business, grabbed what they could carry, and fled the scene.

Police spotted the vehicles, and it turned out that those too were stolen.

When the police finally caught the group, four unnamed juveniles, 18-year old Deamonte Whitaker, and 21-year-old Vincent Lee Alston were arrested.

Two of the kids' female guardians showed up to collect them with two other women, but they showed up at the police station in ANOTHER STOLEN CAR. Its back window was busted out and the steering column was broken open.

Needless to say, the guardians got arrested too.

Of all the adults who were arrested, only one was held without bail.

At least one of the juveniles was a 13-year-old girl who had been reported missing from another county, so it's unclear that the woman claiming to be the guardian of the four kids was actually her guardian.

All in all, it sounds like a big mess of organized crime... like a modern day Oliver Twist story on steroids.
