Someone stole Akon's Range Rover while he was pumping gas in Atlanta 😬

I have to wonder if the thief in this situation knew he was stealing from a celeb:

Atlanta police are searching for a suspect accused of stealing musical artist Akon's SUV at a Buckhead gas station.

The Atlanta Police Department tells FOX 5 someone stole the "Don't Matter" singer and record producer's vehicle while he was pumping gas.

Atlanta wants to mandate security cameras at gas stations because so many vehicles get stolen while their owners are filling up. In 2020, car theft rose by 40% across the city overall.

Fortunately for Akon, his iPhone was still in the Range Rover. He was able to use his "Find My" app to help police locate the vehicle, which had been abandoned in a suburb south of Atlanta.

More important than the fate of the vehicle, however, is this fun fact:

Akon has repeatedly claimed that he spent time in jail for leading a carjacking ring that focused on luxury vehicles. 🤭

If that isn't irony, I don't know what is!
