This is one of the first immigration raids we've seen with this result.

Not that 20 illegal aliens were arrested in the joint FBI and ICE raid. But that we actually saw the people who illegally hired and harbored the aliens arrested as well.

This is how you get change.

From KSDK in nearby St. Louis:

5 On Your Side has since obtained documents from the Eastern District Court of Missouri detailing charges for two people arrested in the raid, identified as De Jin Ye and Guo Liang Ye. Both are facing charges relating to the illegal concealment, harboring, and shielding of immigrants from federal detection. The charges carry a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $250,000 ...

Guo Liang Ye is also listed as the manager of Golden Apple Buffet in St. Charles, which is about 12 minutes away from the St. Peters home.

One witness said a group of employees would come to work in a van. A van was parked outside the St. Peters home.

Not only were these illegal aliens working at the restaurant, they were being housed in the home of the restaurant owners after being brought into the country illegally.

It's no wonder the grand jury was willing to take on these people. It's a pretty egregious case of flouting US law.

We'll see if the charges stick.

This could be a major turning point in immigration enforcement.
