Sometimes I read a headline 3 or 4 times before I realize it's real. This is one of those cases.

Yes, Michigan State Police used a drone to drop a red Faygo in front of a bank in Saginaw, where a robber from Detroit was holding people hostage. luring the man out of the building and into the sights of a police sniper.

From local news WNEM:

MSP confirm with TV5 31-year-old Quinton Marquese Allen, from the Detroit area, took a Mercantile Bank employee hostage.

Lt. Kim Vetter with MSP tells TV5 Allen did not have a gun, adding he did have a weapon, but Vetter is not releasing what the weapon is at this time.

During the hostage situation, Vetter said a drone was used to lower a 24 oz. red Faygo pop in a bag to Allen. When Allen exposed himself, law enforcement could see him through the glass of the building. State Police said a trooper shot and killed Allen. MSP said Allen never grabbed the bag.

The cops literally one-shotted a robber who fell for the age-old Faygo drone trick.

There's no way this would EVER work on me.

Not sticking my head out for anything other than a crisp, cool Dr Pepper!
