We now have tigers crossing over the southern U.S. border

U.S. Border agents are on high alert, looking for a dangerous, illegal migrant from Mexico who escaped from his cell in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, and is believed to have crossed the Rio Grande River into Texas.

The suspect, last seen wearing an orange and white fur coat, is roughly 6-10 feet long, and weighs over 500 lbs. He is considered armed and dangerous with razor-sharp teeth and claws.

That's right!

It's a tiger!

A few days ago, a Bengal tiger escaped from the Quinta La Fauna Zoo located very near the river. The Rio Grande is only about 50 yards across at that point, and tigers can swim more than 7 miles without stopping.

Mexican authorities alerted their U.S. counterparts of the almost certain possibility that the tiger is now in Texas.

'We have not been able to assist Reynosa, but we have advised our deputies to remain vigilant,' said Lt. Enrique Longoria of the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.

It's too bad there wasn't a wall or something to keep these sorts of dangerous immigrants out.

This story hits close to home for me because Reynosa is about an hour's drive from my house: A distance the tiger surely could have crossed by now.

In fact, my hunting buddies, who went dove hunting this weekend, were all excited about getting to carry their rifles along with their shotguns โ€” "just in case" they ran into the tiger and had to "defend themselves."

Which just goes to show why it's such a bad idea to mess with Texas โ€” even if you're a tiger.
