Has anyone looked in on Target's corporate leadership in Michigan? Seems like it'd be a good time for a wellness check.
Employees of a Target Distribution Center in Charleston Township, Mich. said they became the target of a joke involving fortune cookies the day after being informed they wouldn't get the raise they'd been hoping for.
Target officials later called a meeting at the center to apologize, saying it was unintentional.
On Wednesday, employees received fortune cookies that they opened after their shifts.
Some of the messages read, "I see money in your future; it is not yours though."
While WWMT News cameras were rolling, Campbell opened up two other fortune cookies.
"'The fortune you seek is in another cookie.' Again, not very positive," Campbell reacted. "'This cookie fell on the ground.' Why would I want to eat that?"
Live look from within the Charleston Township Target Distribution Center:
Seriously, what happened here? It's hard to even make a joke about this whole drama, it's just so strange and inexplicable.
For instance, why did Target just randomly hand out fortune cookies to its employees?
Who does that?
Is that part of some new corporate culture?
Did Target order all its affiliates to just start passing out fortune cookies to employees?
It's all just so weird!
