I am gonna miss Taylor Lorenz when WaPo finally fires her.
Of all the media clowns (and there are many), she is probably the most entertaining in her use of victimhood to paint everyone else as evil when she does something like dox a private citizen or call for censorship.
This time, it all started when Taylor got snarky with Bari Weiss, one of the actual reporters digging through Twitter's data to expose how it colluded with a political party to bolster political power and silence opposition. Weiss has worked as an editor for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
Taylor responded to the response by asserting that she's a public school kid who didn't come from privilege.
Which is funny, because Taylor Lorenz disagrees with her.
And:
Sad!
Christina Pushaw, the press secretary for Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, said it best.
But there's more!
Do you remember what happened with this story earlier this year?
Lorenz encouraged the 15-year-old daughter of conservative consultant Kellyanne Conway to spill dirt on her family because, as is the case with some teen girls, the younger Conway had taken to TikTok to trash her parents.
But Lorenz now denies that she had anything to do with it.
Like I said, I am gonna miss Taylor when she's gone.
If you think I'm being mean, remember that this woman has spent a good portion of her career going after people like Libs of TikTok to run interference for powerful people that want to ram ideological agendas down our throats. She then lies, deflects, and obfuscates about everything, hiding behind the shield of her powerful friends while pretending to speak truth to power.
Make no mistake: Taylor Lorenz represents power. It's why Wikipedia is more sure about the birthdate and age of Christ.
I'm willing to give Taylor the benefit of the doubt if she is truly incompetent rather than malevolent in what appears to be a bad habit of lying, but if she managed to become one of the most well known reporters in the world with such incompetence, it proves the system of credentialed journalism is... well, dead.
