Reason #1,861 to home school your kids:
A Las Vegas substitute teacher has been accused to taping a mask onto a 9-year-old boy's face. Annnnd that's how you get one FURIOUS mother.
The unidentified mother said her son got up from his desk to get a drink and forgot to put on his mask.
Instead of telling the student to put on a mask or go to the office, naturally (with this new sense of power), the teacher brought the child up to the front of the classroom and taped the mask across the top of his face plus, a second layer of tape from his nose to his forehead.
"I was furious, furious," the unidentified mother told Fox 5 Las Vegas, "I was scared for my son on what kind of long-term effect it is going to have on him socially, the fact that the entire class was laughing."
This alleged incident happened at Reedom Elementary School in Mountain's Edge, Nevada. The Clark County School District said it's "aware of the isolated incident and is dealing with the employee through proper channels."
Isolated incident, they say?
Well, sadly, this apparently wasn't the only time this type of child abuse happened in that classroom. The mom said her son claimed that this has happened up to five other times and that it has been happening from the start of the school year.
That is child abuse, plain and simple.
What is so disturbing about this โ other than a random person muzzling your child โ is that we don't REALLY know what goes on in classrooms.
The only reason this mother was made aware of the situation was because her child went to the office with a taped-up face to pick up homework he forgot at home. When he got to the office, one of the administrators had some common decency and removed it, then reported it to the principal, who went to the classroom to investigate.
The mother wants the teacher to resign and has filed a police report.
Sure, this may be child abuse ... but don't forget it's all FoR tHeiR heALtH!
