Texas legislature passes law to give illegal immigrants option of deportation or prison. Greg Abbott says he’s going to sign it.

Texas is straight up FINISHED with the Biden administration actively trying to open the border.

They cut down the razor wire meant to deter illegal immigrants:

They literally welded open floodgates to usher hordes of immigrants into the country:

They "paroled" millions of immigrants who vanished into the interior of the nation:

So, the Texas legislature passed SB 4, a new law that makes it illegal to have entered the state from Mexico by any means other than an official point of entry, and Governor Greg Abbott says that he is going to sign it.

Now, some would argue that the law is unconstitutional, just like Arizona's law that got shot down by the Supreme Court during the Obama administration in Arizona vs The United States.

But Texas says it's not the same.

Number one, it doesn't try to usurp the federal government's power by prosecuting illegal immigrants. It just makes it a crime to have entered Texas from Mexico by any means other than an official point of entry.

Number two, it doesn't force deportation. Judges are allowed to give illegal enterers a choice: Either pay a $2,000-$10,000 fine and spend 6 months to 20 years in prison, or go back to Mexico and enter legally.

We'll see if any of that holds up in a case that will almost certainly be filed in federal court as soon as the governor signs the law.

Still, things are going to get very interesting here on the border. Many of the people in my city are here illegally. I've personally witnessed folks swimming across the Rio Grande from Mexico instead of using a port of entry.

That said, I'm really happy that I just had jury duty, and that the state can't call me up again for two years.

The courts are about to get swamped!
