This is simply tragic and horrific. Another nightmare coming out of the Windy City.

Genesis Escobar, who was reportedly seven months pregnant, died Monday afternoon on the 5200 block of West Montana Street in Chicago after allegedly "entering a vehicle … and announcing a robbery," according to FOX 32. Escobar was 21.

Iris Alvarez, a friend of Escobar, told CBS Chicago that she heard four gunshots and then saw a driver get out of the car, drag Escobar out of the vehicle, and drive off. For some reason the driver "threw a bunch of money on top of [Escobar]" before fleeing, according to Alvarez.

Escobar was taken to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where doctors declared her and her unborn child deceased.

Chicago Police are investigating. No suspects are in custody.
