Yeah, not only is this tweet racist, but it's backwards as heck. Let's take a look at the aggravated prostitution law they're talking about here.
So if you're a prostitute in Tennessee and you know you have HIV it is a class C felony for you to do your sex work. Not only that, but if you violate the statute you'll be a lifetime violent sex offender. Very simple stuff. And very necessary. These people are lucky Tennessee doesn't just come after prostitution in general.
Yet here we have the American Civil Liberties Union suing Tennessee for this law, and I just wanna revisit that tweet to reiterate how racist this is.
So you're telling me a law against knowingly spreading HIV "disproportionately affects Black and transgender women"?!?!
Do you realize what you're implying when you say this? Cuz I'm gonna look at black and transgender women a whole lot differently now that you've given me this information.
Oh, HIV is a "disability" now - one the ACLU thinks should be freely spread, I guess!

Multiple organizations on Tuesday filed a federal lawsuit challenging Tennessee's aggravated prostitution statute, saying it and related sex offender registration requirements are unconstitutional and violate the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, the Transgender Law Center and the ACLU of Tennessee in the U.S. District Court in Memphis on behalf of four plaintiffs identified as "Jane Does" and OUTMemphis, a local nonprofit that serves the LGBTQ community.
This world is so backwards, man. Unbelievable.
As for the prostitution question in general, I'm not surprised in the slightest that the ACLU is siding with the prostitutes here. A world where people pay for sex is already a wicked one, so why not allow the prostitutes to knowingly spread HIV? Sin is death, so you might as well follow through with the punishment.
