The DoJ is suing Virginia for enforcing a 2006 law, removing non-citizens from the voter rolls. Youngkin is not going to take this lying down.

Can anyone think of one legit, non election interference and stealing votes reason for this DoJ lawsuit?

The Biden-Harris Department of Justice, less than a month before the election, is suing the Commonwealth of Virginia because they cleaned up their voter rolls, removing non-citizens from the rolls, in accordance with a 2006 law.

With less than 30 days until the election, the Biden-Harris Department of Justice is filing an unprecedented lawsuit against me and the Commonwealth of Virginia, for appropriately enforcing a 2006 law to remove noncitizens from the voter rolls.

Virginians - and Americans - will see this for exactly what it is: a desperate attempt to attack the legitimacy of the elections in the Commonwealth, the very crucible of American Democracy.

This is a law signed into effect by Tim Kaine, the man who ran as Hillary's VP. It's totally legit and has been on the book nearly two decades.

But the minute Youngkin enforces the law ... well, that's when Merrick Garland wakes up.

And why?

Again, is there any legit reason to do this unless you're afraid it will hurt Kamala's chances? Why does Virginia need to ALLOW people to illegally remain on voter rolls?

Youngkin sees this for what it is. Here is the rest of his statement:

With the support of our Attorney General, we will defend these commonsense steps, that we are legally required to take, with every resource available to us. Virginia's election will be secure and fair, and I will not stand idly by as this politically motivated action tries to interfere in our elections, period.

The DoJ is accusing Youngkin of trying to disenfranchise legitimate voters, when the executive order enforcing the law only pertains to those non-citizens whose names have been incorrectly added to the roll.

The lawsuit filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Alexandria says that an executive order issued in August by Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin requiring daily updates to voter lists to remove ineligible voters violates federal law. The National Voter Registration Act requires a 90-day "quiet period" ahead of elections for the maintenance of voter rolls.

Let me see here, this violates a "quiet period" when you're not supposed to mess with the rolls for 90 days before the election. Never mind that nearly half of the United States allows SAME DAY voter registration, which would violate a 90-day "quiet period."

Besides, Youngkin did issue the order on August 7, which was, in fact, 90 days prior to the election.

But don't worry, these elections will be as free and fair as ever.
