This news report is so, so tragic. It almost seems like a sick joke.
The homelessness and drug problems in San Francisco are so bad that the homeless junkies living on the street are saying that the cops need to crack down on it.
Due to the policies from the City of San Francisco and its mayor, London Breed, the open drug use problem has gotten much, much worse. The city's solution was to establish a supervised drug-use site, which would let junkies do drugs while being supervised so they don't get hurt.
Some of the quotes from these junkies are absolutely unbelievable.
Reporter: Really? You, as someone who is out here, think it's time for the city to crackdown?
Homeless guy: Yeah, of course! You think I wanna see my city all f***ed up like this?
I mean, that's honest for you.
Here's a reminder, it's so easy to be homeless in San Francisco now that homeless people are moving there from out of state.
There's more from this report.
You get stuck at the Linkage Center because there's drugs and you want to do the drugs. So you'll sit there and do drugs all day. And you don't, you procrastinate, you know, you postpone.
So, they know exactly where to do the drugs where the cops won't bother them, so the homeless stay there, all day, doing drugs. Even if they are like this guy Patrick and want to go somewhere else, they gets caught up in this government-facilitated drug-use zone.
These policies are KILLING these people.
And now, after the deranged policies that allowed this crisis to grow, Mayor London Breed is calling in the feds for help:
We can't handle this on our own on a local level. We need assistance from, you know, the state and the federal government for adding additional officers, or if it's providing support from the feds to help crack down on what we know is very much problematic.
Well, would you look at that, it looks like Democrats even in San Francisco are starting to realize you need MORE police, not less.
Breed also called on the Federal Government for help, but their idea of help looks a lot like her failed policy.
"WE NEED MORE CRACKPIPES, MR. PRESIDENT!"
But at least Governor Newsom and the state is here to help, right?
California is just going to continue to double down on failure, it seems.
