Twice nightly since 1992, in Disneyland's show "Fantasmic," Mickey Mouse has had the same bad dream on Tom Sawyer's Island.

In the dream, he has to fight Maleficent in her 45-foot-tall, fire-breathing dragon form. Luckily the dream always ends with Mickey vanquishing the dragon, but then the next night the dragon is back.

For years, the poor little mouse has been stuck in a hell of repeating events like Bill Murray in Ground Hog's Day.

But this weekend was different.

Mickey was freed from the cycle.

It turns out the dragon was constructed from flammable materials, and it burned down in a fireball of pyrotechnic mishap.

Disneyland employees appeared among the crowd, ushering them away from the inferno, saying the show could not continue due to "unforeseen circumstances."

There's no word what exactly went wrong with the pyrotechnics, but that dragon did not even look a little bit fire resistant.

I guess Mickey's going to be sleeping soundly for a while!
