Look, I get it. Having a team named after a racial stereotype -- let alone specifically a skin color -- might not be the coolest thing to do in 2020 (never mind that a survey revealed that 9/10 of Native Americans are not offended by the name).
And I kind of get using an extremely generic temporary name like "Washington Football Team" while you decide on a new name. I mean, I don't really get it... but I get it.
But, according to majority owner Dan Snyder, that name might NOT be temporary:
"If the Washington Football Team name catches on and our fans embrace it then we would be happy to have it as our permanent name."
Cause ya know what's a good name for a football team? "Football Team!"
I didn't think you could have a more generic mascot than "The Human Being" but gosh-darn it, they've actually done it!
Frankly, I'm surprised they're even keeping the problematic "Washington" part of their name! At this point, you might as well just call yourselves "The Geographically Neutral NPCs" and get it over with!
