The internet has raised almost $400,000 for this Burger King employee who only got a goodie bag for 27 years of perfect attendance

Kevin Ford, a 54-year-old restaurant worker, just celebrated his 27th year of working at the Burger King in the Las Vegas International Airport. Ford claims that in all that time, he has never once missed a day of work.

One of his managers gave him a goodie bag to commemorate the anniversary, and Ford posted a video of him going through the gift on Instagram.

The gift included a Starbucks cup, a movie voucher, and candy. Ford says he posted the video because he was grateful for the recognition, but the internet didn't think the small gifts were enough for someone who has never called in sick since literally the year I was born.

So Ford's daughter, Seryna, started a GoFundMe for anyone who wanted to donate something extra to celebrate her dad, writing that,

He has worked at his job for 27 years and yes, he has never missed a day of work. He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago.

She added that they were not expecting anything, but if anyone did want to bless him, he would love to use the money to visit his grandchildren.

So far, the fundraiser has raised more than $374,000. I think it's safe to say he can now afford to visit his grandchildren as often as he wants.

Ford was interviewed on the Today show, where he was reunited with his daughter Seryna and his three grandchildren, whom he hadn't seen in four years.

Ford told Today,

I'm grateful for everything, for every day I wake up, that I can go to work, that I could be a good citizen, be a good American and just do my part.
